trees

Question by  jrpmlp (1)

We planted 10 Leyland cypress trees last year. Four of them now have brown needles and look like they are dying? What should I do?

We thought they needed more water so we have been watering them.

Check the soil pH and drainage. The rest of them sound healthy, so it may be that they are sick. I would have a tree doctor look at them.

Make sure they aren't planted too deeply and that they have recieved water at least once per week. Then call a nursery or extension agent to learn about cypress pests.

I was told that they do not like a lot of water..once established we only water once every 4 days. We were also told that they like to be sprayed
