Was there a time when priests were able to marry?

The answer of this question all determines on your definition of a priest. As a Catholic no priests could never marry. However many people say that Peter was the first priest, which is untrue, however if you believe this theory then you have to realize that Peter had a mother-in-law which would make him be married.

In certain religions, they still can! Some religions force that a priest can only serve God and not marry. Others don't.

In Eastern Orthodox denominations such as Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, etc. A priest can be married. The catch is that they need to get married before they get ordained.
