Stallone didn't serve in the military himself, but he did create the character of John Rambo, a Vietnam war veteran. Although Stallone was of draft age during the draft in the 1960s and 1970s, he was not enlisted nor was drafted, so he didn't have to make the decision whether or not to become a soldier or sailor.

Stallone was born 6 June 1946, and eligible for the draft from 6 December 1964 through 6 June 1971.
He should have but didn't report to his draft board on his 18th birthday. The draft number for 6 June was 110, and numbers up to 195 were called.  add a comment

I don't believe that Stallone was a draft dodger. I don't think his conscience would allow him to make and continue his Rambo role if he had of been. Besides, he would have been turned away anyhow due to his Bells Palsey disability. But if he was, good for him!

stallone doesn't have Bells palsey. His facial droop was cause from Dr's using forceps at birth and causing nerve damage. He has stated this multiple times during interviews.  add a comment

It is widely believed that he did dodge the draft. He was born in 1946 which means his age qualifies to serve in Vietnam and he hasn't ever produced any evidence that he did. Rumors state he was actually in Canada, even Sweden when the war was going on.

18 is draft age; he was in Switzerland, (where every male citizen serves in the military) NOT Sweden. Rambo taught sports to girls.
