There are brown spots on my dog's belly. Should the vet have given amoxicillin?

These could be moles, in which case, Amoxicillin would not have helped, and could have made the dog ill. Antibiotics treat infections, and if this was an infection, you would see redness, swelling, and discharge from the affected area.

Give the dog a bath with baby soap to make sure that it is not dirt from outside. (baby soap is gentle). If the spots are still there call your vet and ask what side effects and reactions to the medicine are.

Try cleaning the area with hydrogen peroxide. It could just be grease from her coat that has formed a thin layer on her belly in different areas.
