The United States is suppose to be governed by laws, not people, however, the Supreme court is heavily influenced by the personal convictions of of its justices, should the court allow partisanship to influence the judiciary?

Partisanship to influence the judiciary. This is why there is so much concern about the seated president of one part or another have the opportunity to appoint Supreme Court justices.

The Supreme Court is supposed to follow the Constitution. But when you have cases that come before the court that are not specifically addressed by the Constitution, their individual legal philosophies come into play. There is no perfect answer to this question because people that disagree with decisions feel cheated.
