The turn signal on my S10 blinks fast with the headlights on, but not when they're off. What's wrong?

It sounds like there is a short that is feeding into your turn signals when the lights are on. You will need to trace the wires for the head lights to find where there may be a short. This short could also be in the dash or circuit panel. Unfortunately there is no easy fix.

The flashers in your S10 aren't heavy-duty. When you turn on your headlights the circuit becomes overloaded causing the lights to flash; using the excess energy. Get heavy duty flashers.

You could have a ground problem with the headlight switch. I would first check to see if you have any burnt out lights and replace them. Then I would check the wiring and see if you have all good grounds. Then I would check the head light and signal switch to see if they work correctly.
