Should you be read your Miranda rights during traffic stops?

Miranda rights are read when an individual is arrested for a crime or is considered a suspect in a crime and may well be placed under arrest. Being stopped for a moving violation or being questioned as a witness to a crime do not qualify as situations in which the individual must be Mirandized.

No. Miranda rights apply to arrests. Traffic violations and other types of civil citations don't apply. You only need to be read your rights if you are actually placed under arrest.

If you were pulled over for a traffic violation, no, the police do not have to read your Miranda rights to give you a speeding ticket. They do have to recite your Miranda right if you are arrested and being taken to jail as a result of a traffic stop or warrant search during traffic stop.

traffic stops are misdemeaners and so they are different than a crime that states your rights to an attorney. Your words said aren't as important as a criminal proceeding.

This is usually not necessary. Miranda rights only matter if you are being arrested, and are only required to be read then; they are not needed for traffic tickets.
