Should I use a concrete cover on my front porch?

A concrete front porch offers a great place to have a sit out or hangout with your family out in the open! If this is gonna be the house you'll be spending the next few years in do put a lot of thought into it! You'll never regret it!!

I hate it when I see a concrete front porch drooping - usually because the soil underneath was not fit enough to hold it. Be very careful about this when you start work. I'd say go for it and enjoy your porch!

One of the biggest advantages of a concrete cover on the front porch is that you can make it decorative and make your house entrance pretty good looking. Of course this requires quite some work and a bit of artistic talent.

A concrete cover on a concrete front porch will be fine. When installing the cover material, please keep in mind that you want to spread the cover evenly. You don't want more moisture getting onto certain parts of the porch than others. Keep the moisture content even.

It is not a must to have the front roof to be concrete cover, even the latest economic model roof with sheets and other materials can be used to prevent from sun shadows and rainy days.

There are pros and cons to using concrete to build your front porch. Concrete will not rot as wood will but over time it may begin to crack. You can not just replace a board or 2 as with wood but would need to replace the whole porch. Ask for advise at your local home improvement store.
