Should I remove my bird's leg band?

The decision is yours. The legband identifies family and year hatched. Although the bird could possibly be injured if band tangles with something or if band irritates the bird's leg, keep in mind this is a job that should be done by a vet only.

This depends on the age of the bird and the reason it was tagged. If it is a young bird that is expected to grow then yes... you should remove the band immediately. If its an older bird that is mature you can leave it on. If the band is put there for tracking purposes it may be illegal to remove.

I would rather not have a leg band to my bird, because i am pretty sure that my bird would not fly away from me and its not recommended to have a leg band for any bird.
