Should I hang solid blue curtains?

How beautiful is the fabric? If they are a lovely silk or rich damask, a solid color is appropriate. How many other patterns are in your room? Is the fabric on your sofa or bedspread very active? Decide in context to the rest of the room.

If your furnishings have blue in them, it would be all right to hang solid blue curtains, but if your furnishings such as the sofa, carpet, or chair are a solid blue, you might want to go with curtains that have a little blue in them. That way the curtains will give more contrast to the rest of the room.
