Should I get a fax machine for my home?

If you need to process alot of paper work at home, a combo unit that acts as a printer, fax, copier & scanner unit can be useful if you have a computer. If you operate with a cell phone only & have no home phone, then a fax is useless.

With email and pdf files, the fax machine is quickly becoming obsolete. Unless you are doing business with people who rely heavily on fax, you probably don't need one.

Deciding to get a fax machine for your home really depends on your useage. If you currently work from home, owner your own business or just send large amounts of documents through the mail that you would rather not send over the web, a fax machine is probably a good idea.

Fax machines can be very helpful if you have one at home but to install one properly you should have a separate line for the machine. You can use the same phone line you have now but if you get a lot of calls it becomes very troublesome.

There really is no reason to need a fax machine for home use unless you are running a large business out of your home. Most things can be faxed online now with an online fax service instead.

No need. In my experience, fax machines are rather obsolete, and even if you need one, there are online services that do the same work for you all online and without the need of yet another machine!

I would only get a fax machine for your home if you are going to use it. If you only need to fax something twice a year I would not.

If you work exclusively from home, then yes it is recommended. Those who work outside the home may also benefit by being able to complete and submit documents from the house. There are many documents that do not involve work that you must often fax and many places charge a minimum of $2. 50 to do so, get a printer/fax combo.
