Should I be worried that my cat drinks a lot of water?

It would be best to have the cat checked by a vet. This could be a sign of a thyroid disorder or diabetes. Or, your cat just might really like water.

During the summer your cat should drink more water, however, you may want to take it to the vet for a check up. Older cat can develop diabetes.

I think some cats just enjoy drinking water more than others. But to be on the safe side, call your vet's office and check to see if this is a symptom of any possible health problems. It may just be diet related.

I guess it depends on what you would consider a lot. If you feel it is excessive, you might consider taking the pet to the vets and have it checked for diabetes.

If he drinks alot and urintes alot in places he is not suppose to like he just can not hold it or something. You might want to check him for diabetis another sign is sleeping alot, I know cats sleep alot so that one might be hard to determine. You need to call your vet.
