If they had children together, then your boyfriend has a legal and moral responsiblity and you have to accept that the ex-wife will be part of your relationship. If there are no children, your boyfriend needs to accept that his ex-wife can go on without him and make her understand that he cannot help.

If the ex-wife is still depending on her ex it means that she has not moved on from the relationship. You should only worry if your boyfriend encourages it.
