Everyone has bumps on their tongue. If yours are large or causing you to have problems then you should see your dentist as soon as possible for the problem to be checked out.

You are probably fine. The bumps could just be tastebuds that are growing, or are dying and and will fall off soon. Tastebuds have a life span, just like cells on any other part of your body. I guess you could have a rash or an infection but if they don't itch or hurt they will probably go away.

Sometimes the papillae of the tongue are seen as tiny bumps on the dorsal surface of the tongue. If it creates constant irritation or interferes with certain spicy foods then it should be taken care of.

I would check with your doctor but since they are painless I would try rinsing with a mouthwash or warm salt water daily to see if that will help to get rid of them.
