Your iTune may have been corrupt or being blocked by a virus. You will need to uninstall Itunes, do a virus sweep, restart, then reinstall. This won't remove your music.
Try a reboot first. Also try opening with out using a shortcut. Unfortunately if this doesn't work you may have to reinstall ITUNES. Re installing will not delete your library.
If you are running Windows Vista you may need to Right-Click on iTunes and select the option "Run as administrator". Otherwise, uninstall iTunes and reinstall the program.
If you have windows xp, start by uninstalling itunes, and using windows update to make sure your system is update and meet requirements to run itunes. after updating your system, install the most recent version of itunes.
Make sure your computer has the correct requirements. Then uninstall it and re-install it. This should repair any problems with the program. Otherwise you may nee to use another program.
I suggest that you uninstall the software and then re-install it. There might have been a problem with the install or it might have become corrupted. Try getting it again.
