My Explorer EXE will not auto start, why not?

Answer by  Cali (518)

The auto start is a remote controlled engine response. The remote could be faulty or dead, the reciever could be faulty or dead, or the wiring fromt he reciever to the ignition could be faulty or incorrect.

You should check your fuses first off to make sure you have not blown a fuse. Next you may check the battery in your remote. Also a possibility may be failure of the remote starter relay.

Something could be wrong with a ground in the system not letting it know it's in park. That would make it not work what so ever on most vehicles.

Check the starter to see if that is fried. Also check to make sure the alternator is in proper order. If the battery is too old it may also be a dead battery causing the problem. Usually the solution lies either in the electrical side of the vehicle or the fuel delivery.
