You will want to align the skills and experience you have developed with the requirements of the job you are applying for. Try to highlight some specifics of tasks you have completed that you are especially proud of. Also try to highlight your productivity and ability to finish tasks at a high rate and level of quality.

You need to go online and search for sample auto mechanic resumes. You can also look up sample cover letters, get the ideas from other resumes and rewrite in your own words.

To start off the resume, relevant education and training should be listed. Prior experience, and previous other work experience should then be listed.

Your resume should show your experiences. If you have certain skill sets, or prefferances, these should be listed. Such as " previous experience with rust removal." Include any awards you may have won, "fastest oil changer in the shop for 6 months." You don't need to explain how you repaired the cars.

List where you went to school to learn car repair. List any work certifications, such as ASE certified. List any experience you have in car repair. This many include cars you personally rebuilt, SCCA mechanic work as a hobby, or prior jobs in an auto shop or car part store.

Start your resume with your name and address at the top. Next, make a bullet point list, first all education, then from most recent to furthest back, your relevant experience.
