It is very likely that he did. He probably dropped out of school, and went to a community college and attained his GED or received his High School Diploma from there.

Yes, this is possible - he may have passed General Education Development (GED)tests to obtain a high school equivalency diploma. Passing these tests demonstrates high-school level academic skills. Many colleges will treat this as an equivalent to a high school degree. One in 20 college students have a high school equivalency diploma.

Yes, it's possible, but more difficult for someone that dropped out of high school to still go to college if they do not have a diploma. They will need to get a GED. They can contact any library or State employment agency on how to obtain a GED. They may also need to pass other requirements determined by the college.

Yes. Many community colleges, or those offering one and two year degrees, will allow a person to register and attend classes without graduating high school. From there, it is possible to transfer attained credits into a four-year degree program and proceed.
