If you are painting with regular oil paint, usually there is a mixture of turpentine, damar varnish and linseed oil if you make your own glazing medium. For watermixable oils you can use just oil (or store bought glazing medium).

typical glaze has four ingredients, Silicathe glass former; Alumina, the Refractory;Fluxes the melting agent, and Colorants and Glaze Modifiers. There is not oil in a typical glaze.
