You need to stay off your feet as much as possible. Lay on your side/back with your feet elevated higher then your head. Also ice packs will help.

What you are experiencing is a result of water retension (edema). Try to put your feet up whenever possible, don't cross your ankles or legs when you sit, and try to take breaks from sitting for long periods (going for a short walk is especially good). Drinking lots of water may also help.

The best thing to do is to elevate your feet as often as pssible, to just above waist level. Try to stay rested and drink plenty of fluids.

Elevate your feet to relieve the swelling. You can also put cold and hot packs on your feet, alternating between them for intervals of ten minutes. As far as the numbness goes this is probably due to poor circulation in your feet. A simple way to cure this is to recieve a foot massage.

Making sure that you are drinking enough fluids, not standing for long periods, and elevating your feet whenever possible will go a long way in reducing the amount of swelling.
