Two ways to prevent a Persian from vomiting are making sure you brush them frequently and getting them a timed automatic feeder to control the amount of food they can eat.

Persian cats have long hair, when they groom themselves they develop hair balls alot. Daily grooming by the owner to keep the coat free of dirt and loose hair will help, frequent bathing by the groomer will help, making sure to dry the coat well. Administering hair ball medicine will help aid the cat in eliminating the hair more easily.

Many long-haired breeds suffer from hairballs due to hair being swallowed when they groom themselves. There are many varieties of hairball remedies out there. One of my cats prefers the salmon flavored and will eat it directly from the tube. Another cat won't eat it on her own so I rub it on her paws and she washes it off.

Yes! Brush him/her every day and give him/her treats that are designed to control hair balls; also control food intake.
