There are laws against cruelty to animals in most communities. Whether there is a specific law against eating cats and dogs would depend on the location and whether such a law was ever enacted for that community.

I don't believe that there is a law against this practice but by social standards, it's not acceptable. The biggest legal problem may be how the animal was killed or whether the meat will be served to someone not knowing what it is.

I know you cannot serve cat or dog or anything withot saying what it is in a restaurant. Also its just ethically worng to eat them, people have them as pets and they are not bred for eating. They may have diseases and other issues that would require medical attention if eaten.
