The movie is different from the comic books. Anyway Marvel owns Howard the duck and there was a comic series in the 1970's for about 30 something issues. A mini-series was release in 2001 and he has appeared here and there since in the Marvel Universe.
Howard the Duck the movie was actually based on the comic book rather than the other way around. It is no longer in print, but back issues can be found.
