Is the thyroid responsible for increased ATP production?

The thyroid produced thyroid hormone which stimulate increased metabolism and thus increase usage of ATP, but is does not cause increased ATP production. ATP is made via the oxidative pathway and is not directly regulated via thyroid hormone.

Thyroid hormone is one of the many hormones that helps you cells produce ATP. Unless you are deficient, it has no clinical relevance.
