Is the show "Cops" fake or do those things really happen?

The show "Cops" actually follows real police officers, constables, and sheriff's deputies during patrols and other police activities, so it is actually real. It even says in the beginning of the show: "COPS is filmed on location as it happens. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. "

According to Fox, the events on the show are entirely real and did happen as shown. It is possible that a few of the events are staged, but those would be re-enactments of actual events that couldn't actually be seen for some reason. Remember, "Cops" has been on the air for years, and crooks and cops are familiar with it.
