No it not a novel or a guidebook. It a reference book . If you are seriously interested in the diversity and evolution of fishes, studying the classification, the fossils fish groups. identifying and classifying the specimens. Then this is a book for you. For those who are intersted in the life of the fish ,i highly recommend it.
