Is the Cereal Diet an effective way to lose weight?

I thought I might try it, depending on what kind of cereal is involved.

I have tried lots of diets. Your body has needs for vitamins and minerals that you get from eating a variety of foods. I would substitue cereal for a snack. The only good way to lose weight is with exercise and smaller portions. Dropping weight quickly may sound good, but when you start eating normally you may gain it back.

Remember that whatever you do should be done in moderation, but replacing a hot meal with cereal for breakfast can be a good way to lose weight.

The one and only way to get real, permanent weight loss is to eat healthily (including not only monitoring your caloric intake, but also ensuring that you get enough nutrition) and exercise regularly. This diet, like Adkins, SugarBusters and the rest, offers only very short-term results that won't last.
