Yes they are. In 2009 38 Special opened up for Styx and REO Speedwagon during their "Can't Stop Rockin' Tour". The band is planning a 2010 tour.

the band 38 special is still currently together. their lineup has changed over the years but they are officially still together. They were on tour in 2009 with REO Speedwagon
