Saline solution is distilled water that has had salt added to be the same osmality has human blood. The safety for use with cats depends on use of the saline.

Saline solution in general is very safe for cats. Saline solution is simply salt dissolved in water in similar proportions found in humans and in most mammals. Veterinarians use saline solution in dealing with many issues for cats such as dry eyes or enemas.

No!!! my cat died this weekend afer I use a fleet pediatric enema...the doctor reproted she went into heart failure and I likely also ruptured her colon.

If your cat has an irritated eye, you can use saline solution to clean it out. I have done this many times with my cats.
