Although sodium chloride (salt) and water are the main ingredients of Ocean nasal spray, this product also contains two ingredients that are preservatives, phenylcarbinol (benzyl alcohol) and benzalkonium chloride, a mild disinfectant. These extra ingredients are not harmful and should produce no side effects. The sodium chloride and water effectively irrigate the nasal passages.

Yes and no. Plain salt is the "active" ingredient, yes; but most commercial saline sprays also contain preservatives (often these are sulfite-based) and may contain ingredients to retard bacterial and fungal growth. They are also buffered to maintain pH, and may contain ingredients such as EDTA, which is used as a buffering agent and also as a metal ion scavenger.

Ocean nasal spray is mostly salt water, the same salt balance as your body. The main ingredient with the purified water, is sodium chloride .65% It does also contain additional ingredients, benzyl alcohol, and benzalkonium chloride, as preservatives. So yes, it is basically salt water, no added medical ingredients other than salt.

It does contain sodium chloride with purified water. Other ingredients are benzyl alcohol and benzalkonium chloride. These are preservatives that are considered safe. It contains the same salt concentration as the body. It is a drug free formulation.
