Is it worth being a pharmacist?

I don't want to go through all that schooling if it is not worth it.

What is "worth it" to one person might not be worth it to another. Pharmacology is a demanding field that pays well. It is a healthcare profession that requires a desire to assist people by answering their questions and giving good advice. Only you can weigh the demands and the opportunities and judge the value of such a career.

It depends if the work is of interest to you or not. The pay is very good, and the hours aren't that bad, and you'll be working in a nice environment.

It is worth it if it is something you are passionate about, but otherwise the work can be tedious though the pay is decent. You have to enjoy repetitive tasks.

You have to ask yourself if this is something you are passionate about. Before you commit talk to a guidance counselor and learn what kind of commitment is needed. Then go to a pharmacy and speak to to a pharmacist. Visit several in different stores to get a sampling of what it is really like.

Consider this before pursuing this path of study: Are you interested in the sciences? Are you willing to spend hours upon hours studying various scientific disciplines as well as how various medications interact with each other and how they impact the human body? If yes, then go for it!

Pharmacist is an excellent career with many jobs that start at over $100,000 per year. It also offers great job security because people never stop getting sick and needing perscriptions. It is also a job that you can have a lot of control over because of all the regulation that is a part of handling and filling perscritions.
