Is it tacky to send an e-card for Valentine's Day?

Yes, it's very tacky. Unless there was another card, too. If that's on top of other gifts, it's not so bad. But an e-card instead of a regular card is lousy. The guy doesn't deserve you if that's what he sent.

It's better than nothing. However, it's far more thoughtful to send an actual card that you picked out at a store and mailed.

As a woman, I would be a bit irritated if that was all I got. I think if he wanted to send me an e-card at work that day and then follow up with a real card at dinner later that night then that's fine. Just a simple e-card tells me you don't really value our relationhip.
