Is it safe to take Tylenol PM while pregnant?

I am having a difficult time sleeping due to headaches and body pain, I want to take a Tylenol but do not want to hurt my baby.

While it is a good idea to check with your doctor ahead of time before taking anything, in a normal pregnancy Tylenol PM should be fine occasionally.

It is best not to get into the habit of medicating during preganncy. If symptoms are extreme and bothersome contact your health care provider. Also try some relaxation techniques or sleeping with extra pillows to support your changing body.

Always ask your doctor what you are allowed to take during pregnancy. Most Women are allowed to take Tylenol IN MODERATION while pregnant but NOT the PM variation. A lot of medications that are meant for Nighttime use actually have things in them that are dangerous to pregnant women and the unborn baby.

Probably not. The PM formulas generally contain alcohol. If you are having trouble sleeping, you should consult your OB to find out what meds are safe.

Tylenol PM does not contain alcohol, it is a pain reliever and sleep aid. No where on the ingredients does it say that it contains alcohol.  add a comment
