Tylenol PM has diphenhydramine, the same ingredient as Benadryl. It is supposed to make you drowsy and aid in sleep. It is common and often recommended as a temporary measure.

This medication has the same active ingredients one can find in Tylenol and generic acetaminophen combined with the ingredients one finds in Benadryl and generic diphenhydramine. Tylenol PM may help if lack of sleep is pain-related, or if you find Benadryl has ever helped you sleep before. Otherwise, trying a generic form of Benadryl will give similar (and cheaper) results.

Tylenol PM works by putting you to sllep when you have a hard time getting there. Make sure you can sleep for a few hours when taking it.
