It should be safe as long as you download it from the official site. Unofficial sites may provide you with malfunctioned or infected version of program. Anyway, you can always check md5 checksum of your file(s). It's usually provided somewhere below download links.

If you download Winamp from Winamp's actual site or from another reputable download site it is perfectly safe. There is no reason you would have to download the program from any other source. It is easy to download from the author's own site and it is much faster. You can always scan the downloaded files before installing them also.

Yes it's pretty safe. I downloaded it and it's working properly. It's the same function which is in the registered version and I like it very much. So do download it and enjoy.
