There is a program called Pinnacle which comes with a VHS (red, white, and yellow jacks) to UBS connector that allows you to hook your VHS player to your computer.

They sell these capture devices that have the same input as a TV and a USB output, they come with a simple capture software and can record anything you play on a VHS/DVD player; they're not too hard to get and much cheaper than having a company do it.
