I have an ILO dvd recorder. I connected the VCR output jacks to the ILO input1 video and audio jacks. I formatted a blank dvd with the ILO and hit record. Hit Play on the VCR. The ILO was a bit complicated at first but read through the directions carefully.

First connect the vhs player and dvd recorder to the tv. Begin playing the vhs and push the record button on the dvd recorder. Make sure that blank dvd is in the dvd recorder and all rca lines are hooked up properly before beginning.

Plug audio-video into the output of the VHS, then plug that same cable into the input of the DVD unit. Set the DVD unit to record and pause it. Make sure that your DVD player is connected to TV input. Plav VHS through DVD player after un-pausing it.

Your VCR and DVD recorder need to be hooked up by separate inputs on your TV. As long as the vhs is not copy protected, you should not have a problem with recording. Simply play the video and record on the DVD recorder. In addition, you can set your recorder to record regular TV programming.

Connect RCA component to VCR and DVD recorder. Insert dvdrw. Allow DVD recorder to play for a few seconds. Push play on VCR. When the VHS content is finished, push stop on both VCR and recorder. Test newly made DVD. Retry if unsuccessful.
