It is possible to adopt a rescued macaw however they are very particular birds and can be extremely aggressive if they have been mistreated.

All types of parrots can be found at bird rescues all over the world. A rescue bird is a better option, as so many birds are abandoned every year.

Birds do not make good rescue creatures. I can also tell you that they are not good as assistants, like for handicapped people, executives, or doctors. They are good to show to groups of children, like cub scouts or elementary school kids. Rumor has it they taste like chicken.
