Gas is actually a common cause of chest pain. Indigestion or gas pain in the stomach can radiate and be experienced as chest pain. Taking over the counter medications targeted at treating gas or reflux disease will usually relieve the pain.

Yes. This does not, however, mean that gas is causing your particular chest pains. If these pains don't resolve quickly, or if other symptoms of heart disease are present, you should get them checked out by a physician or emergency room. It can be serious.
