Yes, people resist the feelings all the time because sometimes it is just too hard to accept them, or maybe they don't want to for some reason, and there are many possibilities of why.

It's possible, but unlikely. All you can know about a person is what they tell you. If he says he does not like the girl, then you have to assume he doesn't. Sometimes, overthinking things can lead to bad conclusions. Many times, things are what they are, nothing more.
