You should meet him for the first time in a public place with friends present. Do NOT ride together. Meet at the place. Wait to find out what your friends thought about him before you make a second date.

Always arrange a meeting in a very public place. Coffee shops are good choices because they are busy and the time invested is shorter than a full meal in a restaurant. Have a friend come but sit at a different table. Stick with public places until you have meet friends or family, this give credibility.

As long as you have the date in a public place-this means no riding in his car, no going anywhere alone, etc. you should be perfectly safe.

To be on the safe side the first time you meet the person you should meet them in a public place and only meet for short lunch or coffee and refrain from letting them take you home.

It is fine to date a guy that you met on line, however you should remember to met them in a public place and make certain that someone is there that can watch and make sure you are safe. The main concern is safety and your safety in this situation should not be ignored.
