Yes. In fact, a written notice is the preferred method as it provides clear documentation that can't be confused later on regarding your intent.

In most jurisdictions, this is not legal. There is no proof that the email was received by the recipient, instead of caught in a spam filter. It must be mailed to them.

Not unless you can prove 100% without a doubt they RECEIVED that email. You can send a 30 day notice by email, but if whomever you are sending it to was to take you to court and say you never gave them notice, you would have to PROVE you SENT it and it was RECEIVED by them!

Yes, as long as your employer has acknowledged receiving the e-mail. When you send them the e-mail you should go and ask whomever you sent it to if they go it or not.

It depends on what kind of notice it is. I doubt anyone who is serious would send something important by email. They would have to know you got the email, it is your email and you actually opened it. If all else fails say you never got it
