Is it insecure to send confidential information in email attachments?

Unencrypted and non-password protected email attachments, like the emails themselves, are insecure as anyone who has access to the email account or server can intercept, open and read them. The best way to secure the information is to encrypt it with a strong password (that only your intended recipient and you know) using suitable software prior to attachment.

If it's not encrypted, yes. But if you are sure that both parties are using SSL connections (https) for sending and reading, only the email provider can check the attachments.

Yes it isn't secure to send confidential information as e-mail attachments unless you encrypt them first. Even then encrypting data doesn't really make an e-mail secure.

It's secure to send confidential information in email attachment because our e-mail providers like Gmail,Yahoo etc.. have a secure servers and you can encrypt the confidential attachment with encryption available in internet so the attachment will become more secure.
