No it's usualy very simple and much cheaper to do it yourself. Turn off the water and dismantle the faucet. You will likely find a perished rubber washer or the PTFE insides are worn. You can buy a replacement inside at any hardware store. Take the old one in to compare.

Yes, you just have to find the source of the dripping. Sealant applications and new parts/fittings in place of rusted/corroded out ones are usually some easy fixes.

Most dripping faucets are easy to repair by simply replacing a washer. To start you will need to remove the cap on the faucet. You will then need to unscrew and remove the faucet stem. There you will see a rubber washer and if it is worn you will need to replace it.

The configuration of your faucet and sink will play a big part in how difficult it is to fix a washer or other leak. Some sinks are nearly impossible to get under to reach the pipes, while others have plenty of room to move around.

It's not difficult if you know what you're looking for. Drips are usually caused by worn rubber washers or similar small parts that are easy to replace. But if there is major wear and tear, you should consider replacing the entire faucet.

There are two ways to fix it. One is to get the parts (which is sometimes difficult), take it apart, and put in the new stuff, usually a rubber washer. The other way is to replace the faucet. Neither job is terribly difficult.

It is not difficult to fix a dripping faucet yourself if you happen to be a plumber or that guy who fixes things in a pretend house on the DIY network.
