I would advise you to immediately stop your visits with the chiropractic office and inform your doctor about the reactions you've been having. No it is not common to get headaches after! Sounds like the adjustments could be causing nerve damage, or simply not being done right!

If the chiropractor does a lot of manipulation in the upper spine, headaches may occur due to muscle tension and stretching of the ligaments.

It is not common to have a headache after a chiropractic adjustment so it is important to see a physician as one may have spinal canal injury causing a headache.

It may not be common but it is possible. Your skull is attached to your spine so if your chiropractor cracks it, it might cause your head to have pain.
