Is it better to own a male or female Jack Russell Terrier?

A female Jack Russell Terrier will be easier to train and will be smaller when full grown. A female will be less hyper acctive than a male.

It is really just a matter of preference. Males tend to roam more, for all the reasons that males do. Females do not have the same drive and are a bit calmer. I just fond that females have fewer issues and fit into families better. No matter which you choose you will be very happy.

The differences between the two are not significant as long as you have the dog spayed or neutered. Males dogs cost less to buy and less to get fixed. If you don't get the dog fixed at the proper age if it's a male it will mark it's territory. Females will get into heat and bleed all over.

When choosing a male or female of any breed of dog, you will need to consider which gender will fit your needs and your personality. The pet will be a companion and gender does effect some behavior in dogs. Females are more nurturing to other dogs and to humans. Males can be more aggressive in both play and general character.
