Is it better to get joint or full custody of the kids?

It is best to do what is best for the kids. All kids deserve time with both parents. If both parents are functioning and competent, trading kids back and forth gives each parent some free time that may be a good thing. Parents who no longer love each other should nonetheless provide a peaceful growing up for the kids.

It's all what's best for the child. If there is no abuse involved its always better to have the child maintain a relationship with both parents.
