Is it better to build or buy a pergola for a swing?

It would depend. If you work well with your hands and you are confident in building one than by all means it would be best if you built one yourself, this way you can confide in your abilities to build a Pergola and know that it will be sturdy. On the other hand if you're not, than you should buy

It would probably be a little bit easier and faster to just build the pergola for your swing. It would be hard to find and match a pergola in stores. Then to find one that can hold your swing, but that is if you even find one in stores. These are not commonly sold in stores.

If you have limited space at your property it might be better to build a custom pergola to suit the available area. Alternatively, buying a pergola can be expensive for a high end steel frame, whereas a custom timber frame might be more economic.

Building the Pergola would be better just for the simple fact that you built it. Get outside and enjoy what you're doing because the payoff is to swing in a product you've produced. Build it yourself.

Well I would tell you the truth. It is better to buy it because it takes so long to build the pergola. Therefore, if you buy it you will be saving time energy and money. You can look for some great deals off the internet as well. Visit ebay for good deals.

It depends on how handy you are. If you are handy and capable of it, got ahead and build it. If you are not confident, buy it. Safety first!

I would be better to build a pergola to your style. You will be able to build sturdier and will last longer then pergolas that are sold.

Buying a pergola may be safer and built more stable, it will be slightly more expensive than building one yourself. You can build a pergola but it has to be sturdy and safe if a swing is to be attached.
