The wagging tail of a cat is a big mystery to most people. A wagging cat tail can mean a few different things. gently switching from side-to-side could signify indecision, Tail tip swishing quickly and sharply from side-to-side could indicate the cat is irritated or angry or swishing quickly and violently from side-to-side could mean its angry or seriously frightened.

A cat wagging it's tail doesn't usually mean that they're happy. It's usually a sign of annoyance or being mad. You can tell if a cat is happy by listening for the purr that they usually let out when they're happy. I find that the best way to a cat's heart is through his stomach. lol.

All felines will differ, but in most cats this is a sign of anger or feeling frisky. Many cats may do this when they are ready to attack something.

That could go both ways sometimes it does mean that they are happy but also it could mean that they are afraid or mad it just depends on the cat.
