Is cochlear hydrops the same as Meniere's Disease?

It's a matter of debate among physicians with a some saying yes, some no, and some maybe. I personally think its an atypical presentation of Meniere's.

Symptoms of the Cochlear disease is Hearing loss, fullness, tinnitus and vertigo. Some Meniere's disease patients having the same except vertigo. Some physicians believe both are same. some dont believe.

Cochlear hydrops is exessive fluid in the cochlea. Meniere's disease is a disorder of the inner ear that can effect hearing and balance. Cochlear hydrops is underlying cause of Meniere's disease. Some doctors don't put the two together at all while other doctors consider cochlear hydrops to be a form of Meniere's disease.

Cochlear hydrops is a major factor in Meniere's Disease, but not everyone with cochlear hydrops has Meniere's. Meniere's include transient loss of hearing, ringing in the ears and other hallmark symptoms that do not always accompany cochlear hydrops.
